International Men's Basketball Challenge to start next week

Suzhou Sports Center and Dushu Lake Sports Center will host the 2017 International Men’s Basketball Challenge from July 18 to 23.

Teams from China, USA, Iran, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, Jordan and Australia will compete in Suzhou. Yao Ming, president of the Chinese Basketball Association and a retired NBA player, will watch matches on July 20 and attend a forum at Soochow University the next day.

The annual tournament was first held in Suzhou in 2015. The Chinese Olympic team was the champion in 2015; the Iranian team won the first place last year.

A friendly match between Suzhou’s champion amateur team and the Belarusian team will be held on the morning of July 21.
