Suzhou competitors walk away with gold medal and excellence award at world skills competition

Two Suzhou competitors among the 52 Chinese participants won a gold medal and an excellence award at the 44th WorldSkills Competition, the world's largest skills competition held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates yesterday. Suzhou competitor Cai Yepei won the gold medal for baking and Lu Haoran won the excellence award for sugar art and desserts making. Chinese participants achieved a record high of 15 gold medals, seven silver medals, eight bronze medals and 12 excellence awards. The competition aims to promote global vocational education and excellence of skills.
