Embroidery festival to promote protection of intangible cultural heritages

The 10th China Embroidery Culture and Arts Festival will open on November 16 at Suzhou New District (SND) Culture and Sports Center.

A series of activities will be held at the festival including forums discussing protection of intangible cultural heritages and development of embroidery industry; and exhibitions showcasing embroidery works from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) across the country.

At the opening ceremony, the logo and publicity video of the 3.8-square-kilometer Suzhou Embroidery Town, located in SND, will be unveiled. Also, an honorary chief of the town will be appointed.

The festival will run through November 30.
