The 2018 China (Suzhou) Cross-border Technology Transfer Convention was held yesterday to discuss international innovation, cooperation and talents exchanges.
The convention attracted more than 70 international guests from the APEC economic bodies, bringing about 50 high-quality innovation projects in the fields such as digital economy, intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine and medical equipment.
Also, the APEC Technology Transfer Center presented licenses to its cooperation partners at the convention, such as the Russia Association of Technology Managers and the Sino-US Strategic Alliance for Innovation. Their advantages in technological research, innovation and entrepreneurship, and international innovation and cooperation will help Suzhou to promote its technological innovation cooperation, technology transfer and talents cultivation.
Wang Xiang, vice mayor of Suzhou, said President Xi Jinping has pointed out that technological innovation should be advanced with global view, and the international technological cooperation should be enhanced and connected to the global technological innovation network.
Suzhou will take the opportunity of the convention to further deepen the cooperation and exchange with internationally-renowned universities and research institutes, creating a good innovation environment for the city’s talents, Wang added.
Zhang Zhang, secretary-general of International Technology Transfer Network, said Suzhou will carry out industrial upgrade and transformation and import overseas quality innovation resources to support the city’s future key projects.
Prior to the convention, an international technology transfer roadshow was carried out at the venue.
Experts from seven countries brought about 20 projects to the matchmaking meeting, including liquefied hydrogen station, and quantum key distribution data protection mechanism.
