Suzhou Party chief meets former KMT chairperson

Suzhou Party Secretary Zhou Naixiang met Hung Hsiu-chu, former chairperson of Taiwan’s Kuomintang Party and president of the China Qingyan Peace Education Foundation yesterday to discuss cross-strait economic cooperation.

Zhou warmly welcomed Hung and showed respect for her efforts on maintaining the peaceful development of the cross-strait relations.

Zhou said that the city will strengthen the economic cooperation and cultural exchange between Suzhou and Taiwan to improve cross-strait relations and realize common development.

A large number of Taiwan entrepreneurs have invested in Suzhou in recent years, he said. Next, the city will create better business environment for young entrepreneurships from Taiwan.

Hung said that she was deeply impressed by rapid development and extraordinary achievements of the city. She hoped to see more young Taiwan entrepreneurs and employers working in Suzhou.
