Suzhou New District starts to build a 2.54-kilometer tunnel to connect two main roads

Construction of the westward extension of Heshan Road was started yesterday in Suzhou New District to build a 2.535-kilometer mountain tunnel connecting Heshan Road and Majian Road.

The project will bore through the Guanyin Mountain which lies between Heshan Road and Majian Road and blocks the two important channels of the SND.

The two-way mountain tunnel with six lanes will serve as a major channel connecting Baimajian and other areas to promote regional economic growth.

Construction will be completed in the second half of 2020.
