Suzhou Chinese Orchestra held a concert at Suzhou People's Congress Hall last night to conclude the 2018 season and celebrate its first anniversary.

Themed in peace and wellbeing, the concert was unveiled with Spring Festival Overture orchestra and then presented composer Wang Danhong's original work “Four Seasons in the Lingering Garden," which shows people’s deep love for the Party, the country and life.

The work integrates elements such as Suzhou pingtan and Kunqu Opera "the Peony Pavilion." In the second half of the concert, the orchestra performed “the Ode to Peace,” an epical piece of orchestral music.

Suzhou Chinese Orchestra has given 73 concerts overseas this year. Next year, the orchestra will perform in the National Grand Theatre in Beijing and tour 13 cities of nine countries in Europe.
