Suzhou's total foreign trade increased 10 percent year-on-year to 2.14 trillion yuan (US$310.4 billion) in the first 11 months of this year, accounting for 53.3 and 7.7 percent of that of Jiangsu Province and the whole country, according to Suzhou Customs.
From January to November, Suzhou’s exports increased 8 percent from a year earlier to 1.24 trillion yuan and imports reached 900.72 billion yuan, up 12.9 percent year-on year.
Foreign trade of foreign-funded enterprises grew 5.6 percent year-on-year to 1.54 trillion yuan, accounting for 72.2 percent of that of the city.
Foreign trade of private-owned and state-owned enterprises reached 440.94 billion yuan and 153.04 billion yuan, up 17.7 and 44.3 percent from the same period of last year respectively.
In the first 11 months, Suzhou Industrial Park saw a significant 19.5 percent yearly growth in foreign trade to 628.3 billion yuan, 9.5 percentage points higher than that of the city.
