Suzhou is not a metropolis that provides global shopping indulgences or, endless nightlife. However, most international residents and tourists feel comfortable with this 2,500-year-old place that nevertheless takes care of their needs.

With more than 50,000 international residents settled here, it’s not difficult to figure out how all the facilities run. We have the same public policies for banking, telecoms, cable TV, driving licenses, etc. as that of Shanghai, which is a one-hour ride away. We have four international schools and many bilingual schools for your kids. All the major public hospitals have been equipped with foreign clinics.

In SIP and SND where thousands of foreign-ventured corporations are located, English-speaking clinics and property agencies, or international clubs for soccer, literature and cycling can easily be found.

With regards to media, local English magazines and websites like ours are exploring an English but local way of life for the growing expat population.
